If you have an old delta sx radio that you are using for 2 meter operation (highband/wideband model) there is a new mod for these radios. WA2VCS has written a new set of codes to allow the radios to permit digital frequency readouts. yes frequency readouts!!! If you are familiar with the SX models you know that they allow just a read out as Mode Channel Scan 1 1 1 the new system is as follows Mode Channel Scan 14 67 30 or 146.730 a big difference also allows frequency scans with display. Currently we are running the beta 5.0 mode and have found no flaws in the coding , the rig works better than ever and it is as stable as it has always been. Now for the bad news to do the upgrade you need to have a highban/wideband Delta SX with an eprom of 19a704309 or equivalent, have the radio currently working for 2 meters and the cost is minimal the only part that is change is the processor the 80c31 needs to be change to a 80c32-25 which is readily available from Pioneer Standard for a cost of about $1.90. The only other thing that need to be accomplished is you must remove the eprom and send it to us for reburning with Bob's new code and there you have it reinstall the 28 pin eprom and the new processor and the Delta become a formidable radio again.
